Multiple choice
Multiple choice questions that are used to assess student understanding. Students work on the questions individually or in small groups. Used with a larger audience, use a voting tools, hands-up/down or green/red bits of paper.
Optionally: Wooclap is an easy way to create and share multiple choice questions with your students in real-time. Really helpfull during a lecture, tutorial session or other type of class. More information regarding Wooclap can be found here.
On-campus
The activity takes about 10-30 minutes to complete and could be done with more than 60 students in an on-campus setting.
This activity could be done as a blended learning activity, when students answer the questions at home and the outcomes are discussed during class.

Set-up Classroom
A simple classroom set-up, such as a U-shape or rows is sufficiënt.
Step 1. (Preparation)
Prepare questions with multiple answer options. Optionally, you could use the multiple-choice option in Wooclap.
Step 2. (During Class)
Present the question to the students and give them time to answer.
Step 3. (Evaluation)
Show the answer to the students. Optionally, start a plenary discussion. Provide key-notes to take home. Repeat these steps when providing multiple questions.
