Mystery Quotation
Test how well students can apply their understanding of an issue or theoretical position. After they’ve explored a topic, show them a quotation that they’ve never seen before. Their task is to figure out the point of view of the person behind the quotation and justify it to the class. For example, this could be done with quotations from different philosophers about a certain idea. Students can debate this issue in smaller groups before beginning a whole-class discussion

The activity takes about 10 to 30 minutes and could be done with maximum of 60 students. It could be used as a blended learning activity. Whereas students study at home and actively process the information in class.

Set-up classroom
When you let students work together, you could use tables combined in smaller groups. When students work together in pairs or individually, a simple U-shape could be used.
Optionally: Using a Teaching & Learning Lab could be suggested, due to its flexibility in furniture. Students could use the Whiteboard walls to collaborate.
Step 1. (Preparation)
Prepare literature for students to study. Literature with multiple perspectives on a certain topic could fit well.
Step 2. (Preparation)
Prepare quotations based on the literature.
Step 3. (Preparation)
Set up the classroom in a way that students can collaborate easily.
Step 4. (During class)
Instruct students about the learning activity.
When working in pairs of groups: create pairs or groups.
Step 5. (During class)
Provide the quotations to students and let them discuss or think for themself
Step 6. (During class)
Students note the answers down for themself or as a group
Step 7. (Evaluation)
Let students provide their answers in a plenary discussion. Give students key-notes to take– away.

Or you can let the students collaborate in split groups (the online students together and the on-campus students together). On-campus all type of set-ups could be used. Online students attend all in one Teams meeting. Share your screen with the votingtool.
Optionally: Using a Hybrid Active Learning Classroom could be suggested. Due to its set-up it supports collaborating between on-campus and online students easily.
